Jamie Lynn Spears' TV show, 'Zoey 101,' launches its 4th season

Zoey 101" concluded its third season last month, shortly before Spears, younger sister of Britney Spears, announced she was pregnant with her teenage boyfriend's child. The show has continued to air in repeats since then, with little fanfare from the network, leading to speculation that its fourth season might be shelved.

"The new season is under way. It premiered last night," Nickelodeon spokeswoman Marianne Romano told The Associated Press on Monday.

Filming of the show's fourth season, which was planned to be its last even before Spears became pregnant, was completed last summer.

The third season ended with a cliffhanger episode in which Spears' Zoey Brooks moves to England with her parents, only to learn that her longtime school friend Chase is in love with her.

Billy Joel headlines a night of music, money

Lots of listeners no doubt attend the Academy of Music's anniversary concerts because they love the old hall and because they love the Philadelphia Orchestra in it. In recent years, though, the gala concert has become less old-society-centric and more of an event whose tickets go in blocks to corporations sponsoring the event. Audiences may marvel at the Academy's elegance, as last night's white-tie and gowned crowd no doubt did at the 51st iteration of the event. But orchestral music? For many younger attendees, it's like crashing a party and finding everyone else is speaking a different language. So last night Billy Joel was brought in to translate. Even if the pop-music figure reached his musical apex in the 1970s, this crowd seemed happy to relive its high school and college soundtrack.

From couch to kitchen: celeb chefs who inspire

At our place, we watch a fair number of food shows, but with most it's meh, why bother? Such as with—the man and I concurred—Heston Blumenthal's roast chicken, featured during a recent episode of In Search of Perfection. A chicken that undergoes more hot and cold baths, leisurely cooking, and final gilding than a West Van matron at a spa was, we figured, just too much hard work.

On the other hand, Jamie Oliver's current Jamie at Home series propels the two of us into the kitchen with dishes like roasted pumpkin tossed with torn-apart roast duck and one of those twangy (Oliver's word) lime-mint-cilantro-y Asian dressings. There's no question that some celeb chefs motivate us to get off the sofa and others don't.

Jenna Chow from CBC Radio One confesses over a cup of tea that at one time in her life, she subsisted on takeout for six months.
