| Local resorts earn top ratings
Mobil Travel Guide has rated dining and hotel facilities throughout the United States for 50 years, with its coveted five-star rating reserved for an exceptional experience with superlative service and surroundings. Its four-star rating is for outstanding facilities with exceptional service. Only 41 hotels and 17 restaurants in the United States met the five-star standard this year and only 125 hotels made the four-star mark. .

A) An Oregon man was arrested after he tunneled his way into a tire store. His plan to steal tires fell apart when the cops noticed a hole outside the store and followed it to the man and after some investigating- the tunnel was too small to get the tires out! B) A man drove his pick-up truck through the wall of a Louisiana drug store to steal drugs was arrested. Not only did cops have video surveillance of the heist, but they also found a side mirror belonging to the truck along with the mans wallet... C) It's not surprising that a Michigan Nun banned most curse words from her school- the nun wanted the list to be clear and decided to read the list out loud in church- among the words also banned- "stupid" and "boring." Monday, paparazzi saw Britney Spears sitting on the curb outside her house, clutching her Yorkie puppy London and weeping. Seems Brit had an argument with her bud Sam Lufti, who reportedly was trying to stop her from seeing her sometime-bf, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib. A few minutes after her parents Jamie and Lynne showed up, at 9 p.m., Brit drove off with Ghalib, who had arrived at the house. Ghalib said in a statement that he went to Brit's house because he was concerned that Sam was "verbally abusing" her. Lumet on that elusive statuette Sidney Lumet, the master filmmaker whose pictures include Prince of the City, Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon, has never won an Oscar, save the honorary one he was given in '05. Lumet, 83, who has picked up four best-director nominations during his 50-year career, tells Entertainment Weekly he knew he'd be frozen out of the Oscars for his latest film, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead.
20 years for Aussie heroin smuggler
AN Australian man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in Vietnam for trying to smuggle 75 condoms full of heroin out of the country to Australia. Kant Nguyen was convicted of trafficking 219g of heroin at Ho Chi Minh City People's Court yesterday, the city police newspaper said. Nguyen told the court during the one-day trial that he was hired for $20,000 to smuggle the drugs from Vietnam to Australia, it said, according to the Associated Press. A Vietnam Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing last May after Nguyen became severely ill after swallowing 75 condoms full of heroin, it said. Share this article What is this? .
